Is it even possible to save this franchise at this point?

Will we ever get the soul the series had back during Gens 3-5, or even early Gen6?

They have intertwined the brand so deep into their personalities that a critique of the brand is a critique of their very soul. I never played 5 but 3 and 4 weren't soulful to me. 3 getting rid of the night cycle ruins any chance of it having soul and 4 was a slog. I don't have any good memories of that game.
