I'll have to wait to see it before deciding, but the stupid hair aside this is genuinely the most soul a Starter design has had in years...if it's real, of course. I still find it hard to believe that GameFreak made a Starter that isn't a humanoid with a fucking job.

Agreed, it's been a long time since we've had a starter that genuinely looks like a monster. The last couple gens have been absolutely obnoxious with the fursuits.
Also, I hope this means the other two are also monsters. I'm a Quackfag, and I'm worried the design will be another fursona.

The Spanish crocodile butterfly myth seems like an esoteric reference that gamefreak would base a starter off of.
