Early /vp/ had much less moderation, so porn threads were very common and it was a lot more chaotic, the board would get spammed constantly with some fresh new meme or another, I remember the entire catalog being that Aerodactyl ticking picture for one.
Objectively, it was better. When the board changed to /vp/, the moderation increased and it became a place safe for kids to visit, combined with the giveaway threads and just being a Pokemon board, /vp/ likely has the most underageb&s of any other part of the site, sadly.
