Especially as of Sun and Moon, Gamefreak KNOWS that it's an important part of their fanbase, and people wanting to fuck the pokemon, and the underage characters are too big of a chunk of the audience that actually buys merch to totally distance from.
Look at Sword and Shield compared to SuMo. SIGNIFICANTLY less cunny, but with token, high quality olive branches.
