Why did they never do the realistic cries again for consistency? It's so jarring hearing the old 8 bit cries against the modern ones.

they did remaster the cries but not really well enough...
They remastered them since gen 6 and they've been the same ever since. And even then they didn't change them too much. I think they're afraid the cries will stray away too much from the OGs

Game becomes really easy if you just choose Wobbuffet. Also the final battle is really easy because it's 6 vs 3 you can just keep using self destruct and will end with more pokemon than it

The gen2 cries especially are so damn good. My fav is probably Steelix and Skarmory, but all of them are stellar. Well maybe except for Flaaffy.

That’s exactly why they remastered the cries for Gen 6 though. Because it was a transiton to 3D, much like Stadium was a 3D game.
