Problem is how can Ash battle Alan, Lance, Cynthia and Leon in a tournament setting? I've seen people say maybe Leon beats Alan (to show Gigantamax Charizard superior to Mega Charizard), or whatever, that will be seriously disappointing if Alan returns and Ash doesn't face him.

Since Steven met Alain before RBG, wouldn't that mean that Ash's adventure would take place during RBGY? Since Gary and Green have the same backstory of being Oak's grandson, the ONLY way for Ash to exist in the games is if he and Red were the same character. There was that magazine that referred to Red as "Satoshi," and Red was called "Satoshi" in one of the early manga.
That would also mean that the anime is what would happened if Red and Green failed the Indigo League.

IMO if it's one major Ash pokemon or so from each gen:

- Kanto starters (I can see them having all 3)
- Sceptile (only AG pokemon that's likely)
- Infernape
- Greninja
- Incineroar

Maybe Krookodile if they want a BW pokemon there. I don't think a Johto pokemon will be used sadly. And I don't see Gible or Torterra making the cut.

The mere fact the writers didn't rush the rest of the Galar Gym leaders even into fillers before this arc ends makes me think the world tour format would continue. Because if it doesn't, it effectively closes the door again on most pre-gen characters.

Never seeing Nessa, Kabu, Milo, etc. debut in the anime at all would be rather shocking and a shame. It's pretty much too late for most to appear now.

I know that Ash exists in the games, but that's not what I'm saying. RSE takes place DURING RBYG. You can't have Ash start his journey without Gary. Gary and Green are literally the same character. Therefore, Ash and Red are the same person in the games. That image of Ash is also an image of Red.
Furthermore, Jessie, James, and Meowth appeared in Yellow, and they are important to Ash's story. Lastly, Pikachu is Red's highest level Pokemon which is reasonable if Pikachu were his starter just like Ash.

All I'm saying is that Ash and Red are the same person, and the Indigo League is where the anime and games timelines diverge.

In fact, XY&Z's lows were actually lower than SM's pre-timeslot change lows. If you're going to say that SM's ratings were in the toilet, then XY&Z's ratings were in that same toilet.

It was the opposite. Team Flare tried to capture it on their own and needed to send in Alain to take it down. Mega Fug wasn't conclusive because it dipped off without fainting anything regardless if it would have. Primals had Charizard straight up almost die to Groudon.
