It's fine as is but it could use a weather condition, like maybe acid rain or pollution that buffets everything but poison, steel, poison and mons with poison heal.

Make it SE against Water.
Make it resist Rock.
Make all the Acid moves deal SE damage to Steel, and add a new one that's 70 BP + upside.

There. Now it has actual niches.

Poison got kinda fucked by Steel in terms of the Fairy interaction.
Want a mon that can beat Fairy Types? Steel can do it AND it resists half the metagame!
Oh? You also want it to be immune to Poison? Steel's got you covered there, too!
It certainly HELPED, don't get me wrong, and the grounded TSpikes absorption/100% acccurate Toxics is nice, but giving Poison a little something extra offensively wouldn't hurt, either.

Dunno about psychic, but a lot of poisonous substances get buried in the ground and forgotten about as a quick solution. So it makes perfect sense to me.

I'd say Poison should have a super effectiveness against Water. Water has too few weaknesses as it is and it works in flavor too because of all the garbage clogging up the pacific ocean and every major river on earth

Gravel / sand is often used to absorb and contain contaminants. So ground has always made sense to me.

To be fair, Salazzle can already hit steels with super effective STAB.

Thats the point. They made the only ability that can poison steel types pointless against them and only remotely useful against other poison types.

This also remind me that in the second generation twin needle was able to poison steel types. Of course this was considered a bug and was fixed in the third generation, and not a feature (the attack itself is kind of mediocre, so it would have been the only thing that would make it interesting), like the fact that nidorina and nidoqueen still arent able to breed to this day.

I always thought it was because psychic types are smart enough to know how to purify poison and thus destroy the poison pokemon
