>>50304718There are characters from just about every gen that would make for different and unique spin-offs.
>KantoGreen, without a doubt. When she came back in LGPE it felt like it was service aimed at older fans, but she also made a strong impression - she's powerful enough to go after Mewtwo on her own, and she's also weird and eccentric in a way that Red and Blue aren't. I'd want to see her own start as a trainer, and a spin-off game would allow GF to expand Kanto beyond the same old Game Boy era maps.
>Johto Playing as Silver would be interesting as it would allow for different mechanics. He doesn't learn to bond with his Pokemon with the usual "power of friendship" nonsense until the end of the main GS campaign, so a new style of gameplay based on a more strained relationship with Pokemon would be something new for the series - I'm thinking they could add something along the lines of how Frustration works. His backstory is also locked behind a HGSS event that is no longer legitimately accessible, so they could easily bring it back for a new generation of players in his own game.
>HoennWho else for the "too much water" region than Mr. Briney? Let's see him in his youth sailing the sea and exploring various islands and coastal towns. Rather than the usual battle-oriented gameplay, something themed around sailing would be fun - maybe producing the first sea chart for the Hoenn region. It could end with the emotional death of his old Pelipper companion and the birth of Peeko.
