This is so weird. And they did the same with the flashback to the scene where Ash releases Greninja

This is not like the episode where Serena didn't appear in the Clemont/Bonnie flashbacks. That could still be explained as just "she was out of frame" or "she wasn't the focus of the memory so she didn't need to be shown"
No, in this case Ash-Greninja wasn't removed from the flashback, it was actively REPLACED by regular Greninja in flashbacks focused on him
This is a straight-up retcon

Yes, because in the anime it isn’t called Battle Bond but Bond Phenomenon. The point here is if it was truly retconned, why even bother having Ash state what happens when they sync up.
