>>50320755a way in which animations have been improved is every pokemon seems to have a reference point in their model from which attacks such as flamethrower come out
moving forward this will prevent things such as blastoise's attacks not coming out of its cannons, or that one embarassing animation where a dynamaxed charizard shoot out fire from well above its head
plus, pokemon run up to eachother now for physical attacks (except when the enviroment is on their way, like a tree being inbetween them and the target, which isnt the best solution, but it shows they took that into account)
i think they still have not figured out what to do about attacks in which the pokemon has to interact with an enviroment that may or may not be there, like digging while on sea or diving while on land, or where the player character could not help but be affected by the attack, like surf or earthquake (in swsh the player would just pop out of existance, which is really awkward)
i personally see it as an improvement, but you can tell they're still figuring it out, and i hope they carry that momentum forward and that they dont give up on the improvements they've made to go back to what was already there, flawed but safe
