Jokes aside, once GameFreak finishes mainstream Europe and the rest of Japan, they'll have to go SOMEWHERE.
China? Korea? Too controversial.
India is the perfect choice (just make the Arunachal Pradesh location kino though).
India has diverse locations, nature and history, awesome music and peoples.

There's Australia, a few untouched north american biomes (not necessarily USA, maybe Canada?), south america (coast + the Andes + rainforest could give a decent spread of terrain types), Africa even. Then a spin-off game located in independent Tibet region.
