It looks much better than the eyesores that were the originals, and also runs way faster and isn't laggy.

Those who like DP over BDSP are clearly blinded by nostalgia.

Not enough of an improvement to justify getting it instead of pirating the originals. FRLG and HGSS were objective upgrades over the originals

I don't like it because every other mainline remakes have included the content within their generation. Really the only new content beyond QoL updates are the inclusion of fairy types, and a handful of gen 5-8 moves. It doesn't really feel like a whole new experience that I'm playing. Even the way they introduced the pokemon from the platinum dex was halfassed, in that they were all found in the underground, and none of the NPCs in the game use them until post elite 4. It almost felt like I was playing a shitty ROM hack of DP.

The only people who defend it are the biggest consoomers, the bar for Pokemon games gets lower and lower but I think BDSP is about as low as it can go and yet still sold over 17 million, showing how absolutely fucked this fanbase is.

It looks way worse, the controls are awful because you keep getting stuck on the map, and the horribly implemented friendship mechanics actually make the game slower than DP somehow, let alone Platinum

Uncanny valley. Sprites are abstractions, you're supposed to imagine they're stand-ins for real objects/locations. The more detailed and less abstract they become, the more your mind compares it to the real thing. This is why 3D was a mistake; GF isn't competent enough to handle high res graphics and BDSP's attempt to compromise looks jarring and retarded.

People are upset because ORAS while a remake was still treated as "the latest game" with better graphics and expanded features from XY and they thought BDSP would get the same treatment. But bdsp turned out to basically just be a 1:1 remake with some of the mechanic changes.
