The game needs to ditch rivals and add more experienced trainers that check in on you every now and again.
I liked it in gen 5 when the champ would just drop in on you every now and again to mentor you and your friends, it was neat. I want to see more experienced trainers to look up to

Cynthia and Steven also did that. That more or less stopped with Gen 6 though. Dianca or whatever the fuck her name is barely has a presence, Alola has no champion until (You) though Kukui could maybe count, Leon just tells you not to interact with the little plot the game does have
