I actually try to eat free range when I can.
Also why I refuse to touch Halal meats all together.

But I know even if I stopped eating meat all together it wouldn't make a difference, even saying that I don't believe hosting a show where you stab the pig as it runs around in circles till it dies would be something I would watch.

There's a huge difference between torturing an animal for fun and killing it humanely. We don't view animals as sentient creatures with things like regrets, so killing them isn't unethical. Meanwhile they do feel pain, and causing pain to another creature is considered an inherently unethical act in first world countries that is only countered by having a good reason for it.
