>>50357485It shares the striped pattern from furret, the ring pattern from sentret, the general body shape for both, some face similarities with furret, and the paw pattern with furret too. Also the fact that it's a tanuki and gets more elongated when it evolves, they definitely wouldn't do that again for another tanuki mon since it made no sense the first time.
Then they just slapped generic leaf on head from a lot of tanuki fakemon and probably looked at raccoon fakemon for inspiration which might explain the color scheme. There's nothing original about it.
They obviously just wanted to make a tanuki fakemon, looked at sentret and furret for inspiration since its the closest we have, and then copied the generic elements from tanuki fakemon.
There's a lot of things that say fakemon about it and almost nothing that says real pokemon
