Fire or water. Nothing changes. GF doesn't like grass starters and grass type isn't a cool promotional material. They'll not likely make another cat starter to be a shillmon, because favourite Masuda's Incineroar is not loved by everyone and failed at the shillmon role.

I think he's meant gen 7 starters wich is true, because incineroar and primarina lost exclusives moves. Spirit shackle more likely get the same treatment, but gamefreak not maked pokemon that will be used this move yet.

I think they decided to make Cinderace the shillmon of gen 8 after the starters were shown to the public and Scorbunny was the most popular.
I don't think they want another failed shillmon like Decidueye on their hands.
If that's actually what they're doing, then Sprigatito will 100% be the shillmon.

Anon, that's not a triumph, how utterly dogshit it is in Legends is Decidueye's deepest, darkest secret.

It's not even a game where the combat is actually hard, literally random fucking garbage pokemon are fine for 95% of the game, Bibarel is fucking fine, but fucking Decidueye is SO impossibly, Onix-tier bad that it's almost unusable. Holy shit. Meganium has been saved the dishonor of being the worst starter in a Pokemon game, and it's not even close.
