>>50371768Not him but let's go over fairy's strength
>2 weakness : Steel and poisonIt couldn't have asked for better types to be weak to, these 2 types are the worst type offensively and almost no pokemon run moves of these types as coverage and when they do, it's exclusively for fairies.
>Resistances: Bug, Dark, Fighting and a dragon immunityThe dragon type is over represented among legendaries and pseudo legendaries, having an immunity to the stab of those 600-700 BST mons is a huge deal.
Fighting and dark are very common coverage moves present on many pokemons that aren't fighting and dark and U-turn is a staple of competitive
Defensively, it's a great type for all the reasons listed above, on the same level as water.
>Types it hits for SE: Dragon, fighting and darkHitting dragon for SE is a big deal for the reasons listed earlier, fighting and dark? Not so much
>Types that resist fairy: Steel, poison and fireYeah, having 3 types that resist might seem fair but then you realize that those types are all weak to the best coverage move in the game (earthquake). Only 9 fully evolved mons in the game resist the Fairy/Ground combo. Even without a ground move, fairy is a potent offensive type due to its great neutral coverage.
And then you realize that fairy is one of the only type to have both a great physical move and the best generic special attacking move in the game in term of BP and accuracy(what were they thinking with moonblast?)
Fairy is both a great defensive and offensive type being these 2 things at the same type make it overpowered. It need another type that resist it that isn't doesn't have a weakness to ground and another type that hits it for SE that isn't a shit offensive type.
