This. You've never had the pain of being at a family gathering and some kid starts a new game and saves. Thats how I lost my original Red run in the 90s.

The fun part is his mom tried to reconcile things and figure how to fix it. She knew bare tangential info on what games are, so she legitimately asked if the buttons referred to different save files (A & B). Threw me for a loop, pure WTF that takes a moment to recover from
