I’m over at my girlfriends parents’ place on 27th December after spending Christmas at mine.
Her little kid bro (7) got a switch and a copy of Pokémon Sword and he’s playing in the front room on the big TV in full 1080p HD. My girlfriend has three sisters and their boyfriends are pretty cool guys. Anyway after a few brewskis we’re pretty drunk and we end up all sat on the couch, all four of us cheering the kid on as he goes through his Pokémon adventure. We all played Pokemon as kids. We. LOVE THIS SHIT. Eventually he gets to the point where he has to capture Eternatus.
As you guys will know, this battle doesn’t go to plan although I hadn’t bought the game at this point. Anyway the kid is losing it. We’re all trying to encourage him but we don’t know what to do. I’ve never seen anything like this before, neither have the other guys. The kid is almost on the verge of tears…
And then
Zacian and Zamazenta FUCKING APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE. Me and the other guys literally stood up and cheered like at a soccer match. So much so that my girlfriends Dad ran into the room. I had fucking tingles down my chest. My heart was pumping. When the kid eventually caught Eternatus, we carried him on our shoulders. This was the stuff of fucking memories
