To me that sounds like all SKU's of ORAS shipped and seems they guessed their production run perfectly.
I would like to see how a BDSP remake done by Game Freak wuld have ended up, assuming there was no Legends to crimple its sales three months later launching.

These shitty, lazy games are virtually identical in quality to the games that came before them. Pokemon was never, ever, something high quality. Pokemon is not special because it's great, it is special despite being totally mediocre.

Gameplay, yes. It doesn't feel different when I was a kid with red and blue. Where it drops off is the amount of content we get alongside exp share massively shortening time. It's way easier to speed through a game and games are getting shorter so it feels like a candy bar you'd pay 60 bucks for. Pokemon needs to get rid of exp share and actually encourage exploration since finding an obscure pokemon always rocked
