Remember when legendary pokemon were living natural disasters capable of destroying entire regions? Not a bunch of friendly harmless monsters that are captured by children. The manga actually portrays legendary pokemon as gods and living catastrophes.

The whole plot of the games revolve around legendary pokemon causing the apocalypse and natural disasters. The manga portraits this aspect fairly well. The anime has legendary pokemon being caught with literal nets and traps.
