PLEASE cease saying that Flygon should be Bug Type. See REASON /vp/ I am begging you. Antlions are called 'sand dragons', and that is the entire point of Flygon. It is a fantasy abstraction of the antlion. Based on an insect but not actually one itself, it is a sand dragon.

Flygon has draconic wings that EVOKE an elytra, it has lenses LIKE compound eyes, it has head adornments SIMILAR to antenna, okay, it is not a goddamn insect and neither is Trapinch imo. Flygon is a sand dragon taken literally. Yea Vibrava probably is an insect but they wouldn't add Bug and then take it away. The Flygon family is heavily inspired by an insect yes but they aren't ACTUALLY bugs. If not all aquatic Pokémon are Water Type, why would all insect-ish Pokémon NEED to be Bug Type? Especially when Flygon ISN'T an actual insect?

It is one, and the entire point of its design from the very beginning was that it was created to be an actual sand dragon...dragon. You can't remove Dragon Typing from it, it is crucial to it's entire concept.

You can't take away Ground from this evolution line, it is fundamental to their concept. And you can't take Dragon away from Flygon, that's literally what it is and was the whole point of its creation. Why should it be Bug? Why? Because its family is based on one? But it's NOT a bug, yea? So why would Bug take ANY precedent over Ground/Dragon on the SAND DRAGON?
