>>50416517Gen 4's anime was the perfect moment to end the series. They'd given Ash a rival who was his complete ideological opposite, he was competent and his Pokémon were strong, and there were hints peppered throughout the saga that Ash will finally win and beat the Elite Four.
Then the nips who ran this shit got greedy, had Ash lose and shipped him off to Unova, where ratings got to a point where the show could never recover from, no matter how hard it tried.
Somehow, they were able to trap lightning in a bottle once more and got another decent shot to end Ash's journey in a respectful manner....and they blew it in the most spectacular manner they could.
This is part of why I don't believe Ash's journey will never end; whenever you think it will, the suits retaliate by not only continuing it, but also turning it into something nobody wants to touch with a ten-foot pole.
