>>50439177I've got a soft spot for Furret, I think it'd make a neat petmon irl compared to a lot of mons with absurd and world destroying powers
My favorite experiences with pokemon have been learning the games and playing against/with friends. I really enjoy seeing how the pokemon universe is built between separate medias, like how Flareon/Entei have a repeat attack in the TCG a decade apart.
My school friends and I used to battle at school in gen 3/4, out-metagaming each other was fun since none of us were fags bringing 6 legends or anything like that, and I was able to befriend a deaf guy by picking up the tcg and learning it together, which led to a lot of great memories with other friend groups that I wouldn't have met otherwise
Right now Go is my preferred game and I'm looking forward to it getting its due diligence in the organized play space, but I'm wary to travel to play at my age without a friend or two to hang out with when I go 0-2 (none of aforementioned friends still play tcg and never picked up Go) but at the same time am optimistic since that gives me personal time to explore and enjoy the city I travel to
So:
>Furret>picking up new games/seeing how monster playstyles carry over between games>making friends and traveling for competitive play
