It's funny to me, because Pokemon had over digimon a more simplified evolution system for children. Yet the IVs and EVs is so convoluted, and we still have NPCs and items for this specific pointless features instead of normal JRPGs stat growths like any other game.

Why wouldn't ghost moves be physical? Ghost lore/fiction is full of spirits throwing objects, shoving/attacking people physically, etc

My favourite part of this is the opposite problem for Dark, being Special. Every single Dark move in the first three gens became Physical and Houndoom was the only Pokémon that actually had a higher sp.att than att.
Why they didn't swap Ghost over to Special while Dark took over as Physical will remain a mystery.

Plus Gen 2 introduced Shadow Ball and Gengar was still the ghost type with the highest attack stat in the game.
