>>50454872>>50453428The anime and even the games now establish there isn't just 8 gyms in a region, it's just the player can only access 8 over the course of their journey, since it's a video game abstraction. Sword and Shield have minor division gyms for Avery and Klara that we never get access to. Personally I think this is a great detail that makes the world field more expansive. I hope in future games we get 10 gyms we can pick and chose which to challenge
