Pokemon have their moves set to default when moving into BDSP if they're from PLA and the same for vise versa. however, if you send them back into their home (heh) games, their previous movesets will be restored.
Weird workaround when SwSh already had an elegant solution (unusable moves and be transferred in but they'll be greyed out and unable to be selected in battle)

Natdex is specifically for shit that was outright removed, like moves and battle mechanics, though I'd imagine they'd just ignore it anyhow.
Most of the seethe would come from people who value smogon as an easily accessible simulator of what's possible in the current gen, though. NatDex is a far less popular than normal OU for a reason, despite it seemingly being what comp players "would want".

It forces it more. In Sword/Shield, you could still have old moves that were to be culled, but you couldn't use them in ranked. It gave an advantage to people who could transfer if they wanted to play unranked. This evens the playing field, as well as killing the Smogonfag.

I'm talking about moves that are no longer in learnsets in Galar mons, but can still be transferred in, like Defog Volcarona. In unranked, you still have to plan for that particular move but the mon itself will never have Defog in ranked. This means that Volcarona can serve entirely two different roles depending on the context even in 3v3s, but making it so that Pokemon's movesets are altered automatically essentially causes mons to have less unpredictable roles going forward, which I think is a decent thing across the board (yes, there are drawbacks but I like playing unranked in the same context as the entire game).

Presumably once you link SwSh/BDSP to Home, whatever Pokemon are in your Home boxes will be registered to the game's Pokedex as if you caught them. Makes completing dex's way easier now than having to transfer each and every 'mon from Home to Game Box.

Not sure how it'll work with PLA's Dex mechanic.

You could do it without peripherals too, I just said that cause of my gamecube comment and needing the link cables. As long as your DS has a GBA slot you can transfer from gen 3 straight to Home by using the built in transfer systems from each game. You would have to pay for a Pokemon Bank subscription though, or wait until they make it free next year prior to shutting it down.

I get that if I transfer a pokémon in an old Legends ball from HOME to BDSP, it will appear in a Strange Ball. And if I transfer a pokémon in a modern ball from HOME to PLA, it will also appear in a Strange Ball.

But is it possible to have a pokémon in a Strange Ball *IN* HOME?

Like if I catch a Magikarp in a Leaden Ball and send it to HOME, it will still appear in a Leaden Ball. Then I send it to BDSP and it turns into a Strange Ball. But if I put it in HOME again, will it keep the Strange Ball, or go back to a Leaden Ball?

Nincada is because they count it as a clone because of their quick fix in bdsp to stop clones from being tradable, which is funny because this effected nincada and his evolutions back when Home launched and was fixed just to be broken again years later. As for Spinda a bug in BDSP causes it’s pattern data to be fucked up so no spinda for you

Set up a Japan profile.
Launch HOME on the Jap profile
While HOME is up you can switch profiles, so switch to your profile with all the pokemans you want to send over.

Wasnt there a huge thread about this a few days ago?, You were warned if you move between BDSP & PLA the movesets would vanish & you'd only get them back when you put it back to the game it came from, Since you can not put the darkrai or arceus back in the gen 4 games 3 outcomes.
1 they are gone for good.
2 its bugged & they are supposed to be back.
3 SV might allow them going forward.
