>>50456493yeah man, it was like the conclusion to the journey for kids who started with rgb, i was ready to accept the game being over after the elite four. then i get to kanto, first thing i'm thinking is where are ash brock and misty. but ash is gone, so you're looking everywhere, feeling nostalgia the whole time, but it's bittersweet as all the gym leaders and people you remember have moved on. and the music, which evokes that twilight feeling of time passing. i remember seeing misty with her bf and thinking it was sad ash never hooked up with her, and that his obsession with being the best since day 1 was stopping him from appreciating things. then you finally find him, he silently destroys you, and when you finally win it just ends. then you think back to how far you've come, and realise the journey was what it was all for, not the win against red, but appreciating the time you had along the way, with your pixel pals.
hoenn was great, but i'd grown up by then, and the games had moved on. it was a special time only kids who were around then could appreciate.
