Gigalith is better than Golem because of Sand Stream and isn't a budget version of Rhyperior. At best its more comparable to Tyranitar.

Except that Gigalith is absolutely superior to Golem in every way because of his lack of 4x weaknesses and Sand Stream which boosts its Special Defense even further. And now Golem didn't even appear in the SwSh.
It's weird how much they prioritize something like Gigalith over a kantomon.

If Gigalith had its offenses and defenses swapped with each other, would it be good? It'd definitely be unique but is a slow, rock type special attacker something that can be threatening? Lets assume it has most all the moves it needs to be useful.

Its funny, I actually dropped my Lillipup after the second gym, I wasn't really impressed with Herdier and just assumed the line stopped there. Imagine my surprise when I ran into a fucking Stoutland.

Gigalith is better as a physical attacker because its gets Curse + Body Press and it's special defense is already boosted by sand. The only thing I would give it is:
>Trick Room, since it can learn Gravity for some reason
>Gyro Ball to take advantage of the Curse boosts
>Shore Up for obvious reasons

It doesn't need to be a special attacker people.

Special Gigalith would be interesting in Sun Teams. It would have Fire type Weather Balls and instant Solarbeams. Outside of Sun, it would run Weather Ball for STAB due to sand making it a 100 BP Rock type move.

I'd rather just give Tyranitar Weather Ball though, its special movepool is much more fast than Gigalith's(Elemental beams, Water moves, Focus Blast, etc) and has a better speed tier.

Well, yeah, Bullet Punch and Mach Punch are fucking everywhere and it takes 25% damage from rocks which are also everywhere AND it dies it one hit to Aqua Jet. Weavile is already unusable in OU but Sneasel-Rock wouldn't even be usable in PU. Have fun in (PU) aka ZUBL.

I ran Gigalith in VGC whatever year USUM was and it was pretty based. I even ran HP Fire as coverage for Kartana. If it was purely special it'd have such a unique niche and could get a bunch of surprise KOs it couldn't before, since Intimidate was everywhere and put a damper on it.
