BW flopped and almost killed the franchise. While SM sales were very underwhelming compared to XY despite the Pokemania rebirth thanks to Go at the time.

It's not going to outsell or even match SWSH numbers. Switch is past it's prime and the OLED model was enough of a boost. People have had BDSP and PLA not so long ago and covid is less a thing now so they're not dying for a new entry.
Maybe I will get btfo but I just don't see it happening

Second gen of a console will hurt it from passing SWSH, sure.
But at the same time the open world meme is a hell of a drug. PLA did as well as most remakes on both a January release and a shelf life of a whole month.
Could close in on 20M but that's as far as I give it. Hotter than most gens, but not quite a big shot.
