Well they let Necrozma survive the Dexcut, but removed Z-Crystals so it can't transform. Rayquaza can learn Dragon Ascent but can't Mega. No Primal Orbs either.

Games will likely become more and more isolated desu.

Giratina already had said privileges for 13 years.
It was always considered special compared to the other 2, the same way Rayquaza was to Groudon and Kyogre.

I wouldn't even call it incompetence. It's maliciousness. They don't give a fuck, they'll resell 10 year old forms to you in a remake. They're gonna make including Megas again a big selling point when the X/Y remakes roll back around.
Masuda and anyone with his worldview will need to retire before the main series games go back to truly being good again.
