How can I make grinding more enjoyable? I want to play more Pokemon, but the grind always turns me off. How do you guys fare with it?

In the newer games there's pretty much no reason to grind
In the older games i just decided that, fuck it, i might as well hack in rare candy since I'm playing on an emulator anyway

Gens 4 and 5 mainly. I want to play more of those games, especially HGSS (since literally every person ever says those games are kino and I want to see why), but the grind in those games are especially tedious for me. Gen 3 was honestly fine for me though, so I don't know whats up with that.

I dont remember EVER having to grind in any 4 or 5 game.

Grinding in B2W2 isn't so bad since you can always just use the rustling grass to farm Audino, makes the whole thing a lot quicker. As for the others, idk man, grinding is grinding. It's not fun, plain and simple. Best suggestion I can give you is just to put on some music or a show and entertain yourself that way until you're done. And of course make sure to battle every trainer you come across, it'll save you tedium in the long run.

Alternatively, any PKSM compatible game enables you to just edit the IVs/EVs and levels from a menu. If your team is behind or you get something new and want to bring it up to speed, you can fix that in like 2 minutes.

I don't think I've ever grinded in the main game of a Pokemon game, literally just don't skip trainers and don't use repels, then play using strategy rather than just trying to bruteforce everything with big numbers.
