The fact this new Giovanni pops up, in the games that introduce the ideas of a multiverse (and the next release reiterating the canon storyline of Gio getting his arse handed to him then retiring) implies the RR Giovanni is one who never met Red and given Red is cannon to USM AND ten years older than when he smashed the Rockets, it can't be the Giovanni of this game world, he got his shit pushed in, remember?
