Why couldn't Blaziken become a top shillmon like at least on the level of Incineroar? It feels like it lost all of its steam after beating Charizard in the anime.

Because Incelroar only had to compete with Rowlet and Decidueye. Blaziken has to compete with Mudkip, Treecko, Grovyle, and Sceptile

The anime forced Sceptile to be the shillmon by making it be Ash's main.
Maybe if Ash raised one himself like he did with Incineroar and Greninja, then maybe Blaziken could have become more popular. But no, he got stuck being May's main and all she wanted to do was contests.
