- AAA: big games with super high production and marketing budgets, reaching surpassing thousand million dollars. They tend to go for the "super realistic graphics" to appeal to normies as they need as many people as possible to buy the game, also are loaded with microtransactions and DLC because sales of the base game alone could not be enough to make a decent profit. Examples: Call of Duty, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Final Fantasy
- AA: mid-budget games, usually around the ten-twenty million dollars. You can see more niche things here, but still are pretty mass appeal
Examples: Nier Automata, Fire Emblem, Dark Souls. Pokémon would land here
- A: "low" budget. From 1M to 10M. You can see niche proposals here while still having good production values. Examples: No More Heroes, Katamari Damacy, most of the movie tie-in games
Below 1M is indie territory, many publishers don't want to fund games below that treshold.
