Eggs showing up is random. You can do one lap and the old fuck will be out there, the next time it takes 15+ laps for him to show up.
Hatching takes forever.

that 1/64 chance is also only there if one of the parents is shiny.

anyone insane enough to breed in crystal has the maximum setup (me) you're guaranteed to another eggs waiting for you once one hatches, I've been able to get a steady hatch every 5-10 minutes or so

Even with that it takes forever. even when I get a shiny within 40 eggs it takes a while.
