An all knowing and powerful God wouldn't create a system that needs his constant power input to function, rather creating a system that can grow and adapt to the unfolding plan. There's a reason many enlightment thinkers would call God "the Great Clockmaker".
You have to remember the Old Testament and Gospel are written and delivered to early farmers, and revealing high science to them would be fruitless and give no basis of which to accept the knowledge. Imagine explaining why the sky is blue to a child - you're not going to give the complex answer revolving around refraction and atmospheric conditions, you're going to put it in words they can understand.
