I re-bought the coveted Eevee & Pikachu Switch and Pokemon Sword.

However this time I got a scratched-up console.
Are the back plates on eBay fake or genuine Nintendo spare parts?
I'm too autistic to play on a scratched console.

I brought one of those plates on ebay. It looks identical except for 2 things, the sheen looks lighter and it's more easier to be scratched, I think they're selling factory rejects.

My Pee&Poo Switch was used by some kid and it's scratched to hell front and back. I might have to replace the digitizer as well as the back plate
Factory reject is fine as long as it isn't some stencil made garbage

Stencil on mine was fine, its was the area around it thats more easier bound to scratches. Scratching on the stencils with mine doesn't show easily unless you're doing more force on it.

When I was replacing the backplate, I was curious on any differences. Both plates felt the same(hitting it, waving, and tapping, etc) although the inside of the Pokemon BP, it felt more rough. Another problem was one of the screw hole doesn't want to go in if you're using the screws from the original plates/console, so it varies.

I wanna know where these replacements come from. I know they make fakes of absolutely everything in China but these back plates look so real. They got the right font, colors and everything.
They might be factory rejects, surplus, or maybe factory blokes secretly print extras of their own after their contract with Nintendo is over? I wouldn't know

It doesn't matter at all if they're updated or not, all of those are patched units and all of them can be hacked with the use of an SX Core even updated so it literally doesn't matter.

The DO NOT UPDATE autism comes from people saying that the unpatched units could possibly be hacked in the future without the use of a payload, or that it injects the payload automatically and that if that were to be possible it would be with one of the earlier versions. But it's pointless, it's been 4 years, that's not out, and most consoles aren't using OG firmware anyway so it's not even worth the development hassle.

tl;dr they're still valuable

There exist actual scratch removal compounds but you cant use them on painted surfaces.
Those eevee and pikachu silhouettes are painted on.
