It's known as an infamous cartoon from the early 00s, nothing more to the mainstream crowd and the Pokemon Go fanbase vaguely remembers the 00s gen 1 stuff. They showed the first season in 2000 and it became a relatively big fad, but what was sold was stickers, "fishkis"(cardboard circular mini cards), that kind of cheap printable merch stuff. Never manga or Game Boy Advances, games though.
When it became obscure a few years later, in the 2010s, it got aired the DP, BW, AG, XY (yes in this order don't ask me why) seasons on some third party obscure channels.
Russia is a poor, Philippines tier market/country, there was never profit for Nintendo to localize their consoles here
And yet, it's still one of the MOST famous anime to the mainstream crowd.
Anime is not liked by the general crowd in Russia.
