BDSP seems more like a deliberate choice rather than a limitation of the tech.
That said, XY and ORAS look light years better than BDSP.

It's the same concept as FFVII's art direction: trying to please old fans.

Which there's nothing wrong with. To some extent I like how faithful BDSP was. But all the same their execution was awful.

BDSP would be far more soul and successful if it was remade as part of Gen VII based on Sun & Moon, At least it could have same improvements like ORAS based on XY. Even if it's shit like ORAS, It'll still be better than the current gen VIII BDSP which are nothing more than DP ported to Switch.

The chibishit looks bad and even the fullsize models barely resemble the established art style. The LIGHTING is good, as is the water. But lets be real, ILCA being good at those things should be a given, they're a fucking support studio after all.

Can understand. I guess Zelda LA on Switch didn't look quite as agregious because I was used to the cartoonish Link from WW or the 3DS games
BDSP on the other hand was just really weird when they perfected the top-down graphics with LGPE just before
also did not help that I thought Sinnoh remakes were unneccessary to begin with
