They add minor quality of life improvements, and are on the console people everywhere own. I can play a fun old game, and I can do it on the console I already have. I don't have to make my normie friends dig out their old consoles, and now that I got of my ass and went College I can battle and trade with my friends back home.

It's not really about the content, it's about the social aspect.
