I think that Diamond and Pearl are actually really solid games and the idea that Platinum "salvaged" them is fucking nonsense (Platinum was an overall improvement, but it was worse in minor regards). I think that BDSP are decent by virtue of having a strong basis, but there are problems with it that compromise the experience.
>Easily the laziest remake, level geography is straight up reused (you can see 3D models like the mine tracks in Oreburgh City are 100% identical), it's mostly a texture update and in HD
>The environmental graphics look good, but the overworld models look hideous and the art direction of the originals has been ruined, sprites are absent
>Online now costs money when one of DP's biggest draws was free online
>HMs being made available at all times does not fix the problem, it makes my team and decisions matter less
>The game was blatantly unfinished and required numerous patches to add things like a title screen, credits, final music, post-game areas, etc.
>Affection is built into the fucking game
>Exp. Share is built into the fucking game
It's cool that they have Gym Leader rematches and the Grand Underground sounds like a straight up improvement. Give me a ROM hack of DP with BDSP's actual improvements.
