>>50528782no. wish it could, but the internet's become too cynical and judging to let this kind of shit ever become common again.
the creative, enthusiastic spirit of the old internet that let this shit leave the deepest darkest most autistic corners of the web is long dead, replaced by cynicism and echo chambers where being anything less than perfect is the ultimate sin and anything you make is shit by default (or the best thing ever, and therefore absolved of all criticism)
the fact that an entire generation is going to grow up having only known this zombified version of the revolutionary niche outlet for creative expression that the internet used to be will only reinforce this mindset, and ruin the internet further and further for generations to come. coupled with the commercialization and mainstreamification of the net as it is today, anything this purely and unabashedly edgy will never be able to survive without vicious, widespread ridicule ever again.
maybe that's a good thing. maybe it'll encourage better from the people who would otherwise be stuck making this trite for years on end without realizing where they're being excessive and heavy-handed. maybe it'll somehow prompt exploration of other, more subtle avenues of creative expression.
but I miss pure, unfiltered shit like this. just the raw production of some dude with a passion. I know it was never going to stay that way for long, but it still hurts.
