You can see on video him having Fentanyl in his mouth when the cop talks to him in the car, likely trying to swallow all the evidence he had illegal drugs, which is why he was acting crazy and belligerent the whole time.
He wouldn't have died if he didn't eat all the Fentanyl at once to avoid the cop arresting him.
