Nidorina and Nidoqueen not being able to breed is not a bug. Back in Generation one a Pokedex book was made with Tajiri himself helping. This book never left Japan, but it states that when Nidoran-F evolves it gives up it's ability to produce eggs to become strong to protect the nest. When breeding became an actual mechanic, they stayed true to this entry and have maintained it ever since.

You DON'T need Ho-Oh or Lugia to get the national pokedex diploma in FRLG, E, or DPPt.

You DO need Ho-Oh and Lugia to get the national pokedex diploma in RS. Also, due to an oversight, you don't need Chikorita, even though you do need Bayleaf, Meganium, and the other johto starters.

There is a fair chance that Hariyama and Azurill have the others catch rate. Hariyama has a higher catch rate than Makuhita while Marill has a higher catch rate than Azurill. These are the only two Pokemon where the evolved form is easier to catch than the preevolution. Notably Azurill and Hariyama are next to each other in the Pokedex. If Hariyama had Azurill's catch rate, it would be lower than Makuhita and if Azurill had Hariyama's it would be higher than Marill.

In Pokemon RSE, the strange old man in Mauville is random depending on your trainer ID's last digit.
0 or 1 gets you the Bard.
2 or 3 gets you the Hipster.
4 or 5 gets you the Trader.
6 or 7 gets you the Storyteller.
8 or 9 gets you Giddy.
Your Old Guy can be swapped with another player if you mix records.
If your old guy is the Bard, his song uses a bizarre text to speech program, and for whatever reason he can't say the word Celebi.

If you evolve an unnamed Japanese Pokemon in an English game it will keep the same name as its pre-evolution. I.E. Mizugorou (Mudkip) evolved into Mizugorou (Marshtomp with Mudkip's name). The only exception to this is when you evolve a Tsuchinin (Nincada), the Ninjask will keep Tsuchinin as its name, however, the Shedinja will have its proper Japanese name (Tekkanin). I've only tried this in Emerald, so I don't know if they fixed this in the newer games.
