>>505595781. Sheer Cold is banned in most formats to prevent people from fishing free kills
2. Sheer Cold isn’t actually practical in practice since it’s a lottery
3. Even among good Sheer Cold users, Alolan-Ninetales is not one of them. A Pokemon like Lapras utilizes Sheer Cold way better due to its bulk and ability to dominate most Ice types that otherwise are immune to it (and only in BSS really)
4. Non-Ice types can learn Sheer Cold. Even Suicune gets it and is better abuser of it, so it’s not like Ninetales-A suddenly loses access to it
5. All it loses is the 30% chance to get an OHKO, which is now 20% and not much lower.
6. Other OHKO moves exist, so if Alolan Ninetales did even lose Sheer Cold by suddenly if it wasn’t part Ice, it would likely get a new OHKO move or have a new Fairy type OHKO move.
7. If you’re using Alolan-Ninetales for any other reason than to set Aurora Veil/Hail, you’re using it wrong.
8. Even if you wanted to use offensive Alolan-Ninetales in higher tiers, you are much better off using Nasty Plot+STABs and a Physical Attacker that can deal with Blissey/Chansey, Toxapex, and Heatran
9. If Alolan-Ninetales had to solely be an offensive Pokemon instead of support, it would be outclassed by regular Ninetales.
