I've always liked most of the gen 3 mons. Breloom, Flygon, Grovyl, Duskull, the fossil mons I forget the names of, Regis, Aggron, Metagross. More I'm not thinking of. Probably has the most consistent gen as far as favorites go.

I was thinking how thematically strong Gen 7 is. It isn't my personal favorite, but for all of its flaws, Game Freak have knocked it out of the park with designing creatures for a tropical setting.
