Anime Unova was seemingly a weak regional league. Ash got pretty far with arguably one of his weakest teams. The regional rival was very unimpressive. The guy who won the league didn’t even use any Unova introduced pokemon. The guy who beat Ash also did some of his training in Johto because he thought the Unova league was in Johto.

Ash did terribly in Unova, compared to other Leagues; in Hoenn and Sinnoh, he only lost to the guy who went on to win the whole tourney. In Johto, he severely crippled his opponent's Pokémon, which is why he ended up losing. Even in Kanto, he only lost to Richie because Team Rocket tired out his team, and probably could've done better against Richie's opponent if he were the one fighting instead.

What? They're not adding any Z-Moves because they're a gimmick. There is zero reason to add new ones when Alola won't even be brought up again until the inevitable Gen 7 remakes. Gimmicks aren't transient like other real mechanics in abilities/megas.

Aka exactly the point of Z-Moves and Dynamax since their only role was to give Alola and Galar (regions completely devoid of their own flavor/identity outside of KANTOOO) something to call their own; thus, Z-Moves and Dynamax were created with the express purpose of being dropped while actual game mechanics (held items, abilities, megas, etc.) were intended to enrich the battle system even if they get temporarily dropped (as has been the case for all three of them in Legends)

As far as I can tell, it never left. The only anomaly is Sword and Shield not having it. BDSP are faithful remakes and PLA isn't battle-focused and doesn't include abilities, held items, or megas either.

It's a full battle, you're supposed to bring 6 pokemon. That's what the rules state. It's pretty clear that someone who doesn't even know what a full battle is has no business being in a pokemon league. If you want a real life example, in Football (soccer if you're american), if too many players from 1 team are injured and they've used their player swaps they are disqualified

No they're not. If a club subs three players, then loses 5 to injury, the ge=ame gets abandoned and the time of stoppage dtermines the outcome (if game is stopped before first half completed, game replayed in full, if after 2nd half started, score when game stopped for finl time is the result).
Only if a team FAILS to field at least 7 players for a game do they get any punishment and that's giving the other team an automatic walkover win.
