I’m sorry, but Grass and Water have always been underwhelming to me.

Grass? Every animal has a prehistoric counterpart. Torterra, Serperior, and Rillaboom to me are just absurd, because they could very easily be based on extant animals. Hell even the Stilt Owls Decidueye is based on have been dead for hundreds of years compared to the thousand or millions the other Grass starters are believed to be based on. You can get any animal and find a prehistoric animal to base it on.

Water? Stupid as fuck. Swampert, Feraligatr, and Primarina are prime stretches. Primarina ‘mace’? Fucking comedy material. Its a massive stretch, only like half of the Water staters use “weapons” and even then it’s just because water is easier to use as a projectile/ammunition than any other form.

Water types are land and sea animals.
That's their pattern creatures that can live on both.
How is Feraligatr Knuckle dusters when he doesn't have any pads on his knuckles.

The weapons one is really dumb. Pokemon are by default built for combat so you can always stretch a connection to some weapon.
