Based on predictive programming WWIII will cause a delay in its production, and the destruction of Europe will deem the release insensitive and inappropriate (at least until Spain is brought out of 3rd world status.
Instead these starters will be rehashed and use in the next true installments based in China.
At the moment Gamefreak is producing both the Spain version and the Chinese version.
This has been on going since Black and White era, due to the looming inevitably of western civilization failing and the Chinese century rising.
If the course sides with China, Black and White remakes will not be out of the question due to America defaulting on its debt and becoming a Chinese economic anomaly of a territory (think slaves/lower class). This is why Gamefreak put so many chinks and Chinese references in a game based on America. America will be owned by China in the long run, it’s inevitable.
Scarlett and Violet will be the last of Western references if the west resists downfall, however it’s repurposing is still on the table.
